Salvador
Carranza
AKA "The Silk'"
Lead Vocals
Salvador
Carranza, . Favorite color is NOT Magenta, just want to
make that clear.
Salvador was born and raised in northern California and was introduced
to performing in front of audiences at a young age, he had no choice, his
mother was a Hula Instructor most of his life and ran her own studio.
He enjoys, all kinds of music, however, some of his biggest influences
includes Marvin Gaye, Al Greene, Ray Charles, and Frank Sinatra just to
name a few.
Salvador sang in his first band at 18 years old, and continued to do so
for several years. After that experience, he took a rather long hiatus
and did solo work from time to time. Since moving to San Diego 8 years
ago, he has always wanted to get back in the scene, so here he is. He loves
to sing and he loves to entertain.
He would also like to thank his bandmates for believing in him and making
this experience a blast. Big Props to Dave(drums: AKA: The Shizle) for
hosting our rehearsals.
Life is a melody, enjoy it.

David
Roberts
AKA “Beat Master D”
Drums & Vocals
Born
in Seattle on September 19th,
1954 he started his drumming career playing
pots
in his
mother’s kitchen. As
soon as music was available he started lessons at Woodrow
Wilson Elementary as the snare drummer in the school
orchestra. He stayed with his lessons until the seventh
grade when he moved to a new district and parents divorced.
He joined a number of bands throughout the mid to late
60’s. In the early 70’s Dave decided to join
the Navy as his father, grandfather and uncle’s
had done. After boot camp in
San Diego he deployed to the
Western Pacific and
was hooked, literally and figuratively.
He completed a 23 year career
in the summer of 1996 where
he was a member of several
shipboard
bands playing drums and/or
guitar for the crew
or at different ports of call
such as for the Chief of Naval
Operations in Lamut, Malaysia
as well as ship parties
in Perth Australia, Abu Dhabi,
UAE and Mombasa, Kenya. He
should also mention many missions
across Olongapo
River to a variety of clubs
in Subic Bay Philippines as
a guest performer.
After leaving the service Dave
has played with
a number a San Diego cover
bands including RELX, Mass
Transit, Positive Groove and
now with the best band to
date.
Randy
Brown
AKA “Cryptic Flash”
Guitar & Vocals
Scorpio.
Favorite color: magenta. Likes: people who are sunny.
Dislikes: people who are mean and know it alls. Greatest
wish: World peace. Favorite Singer: Lindsay Lohan.
Started musical career wanting to play the theme to Star Wars and be the
only 9 year old white dude in Earth Wind and Fire which led him to the trumpet
and the school band at age 9. Played trumpet in sunny Las Vegas and got pretty
good at it by highschool. At age 16, played at the Landmark hotel and Casino
and numerous other gigs professionally but was unable to trick bartenders
in to serving him Alcohol in spite of his improvisational skills and physical
proximity to liquor.
Mainly a jazz player, at the age of 20 Randy discovered he could get exactly
no chicks with his trumpet and took up the guitar hoping to woo hot babes
with songs requiring no more than 4 chords. In addition, Randy's libido spurred
him to learn to sing harmony and play piano making him a quadruple threat.
At age 22, during college, he demonstrated his musical skills by playing
guitar and piano in a lounge at the Palace Station Hotel and Casino before
OJ made the locale famous with his burglary skills. He enjoyed many 49 cent
breakfasts there consisting of scrambled eggs, hash browns and your choice
of sausage or bacon (Randy chose sausage most of the time).
Since those days, Randy has played in several
cover and original bands in Las Vegas
and the San Diego region. He has played in front
of thousands
of
people who continue to not know who he is. He has
worked as a studio engineer as well, working
with many
talented Las Vegas rap and R&B artists
and even writing and recording his own
songs. He continues
to underestimate his luck and overestimate
his talent all the while hoping to become
a better
entertainer and all around human being.
Rebecca
Brewer
AKA “Lady Magic Fingers”
Keyboards & Vocals
Rebecca
Brewer, keyboard and vocals,
is a long-time Southern Cal resident,
hailing originally from the tundra
of North Dakota, where people
sing in large,close-knit groups to
avoid freezing to death. Hence, Rebecca
comes from a high school
and collegiate choral singing
background. While in California,
Rebecca has performed with, and arranged
for multiple vocal jazz ensembles,
including a comtemporary
a cappella quartet that performed regularly
in LA and Orange County, The
Liner Notes. She really digs
groups like Rockapella and m-pact.
(THOSE dudes know how to keep warm.)
Since moving to San Diego,
Reba sang with, and helped
to develop "The Latin Jazz Project" trio,
with noted San Diego theater
director and musician, Al
Germani, blending improvisational
singing and
traditional Afro-Cuban elements
with jazz tunes and standards..
She has also sung extensively
with San
Diego's Moonlight Serenade
Orchestra and professional
worship ensembles.
Rebecca is having a blast
playing piano and synth to
fill out 1&Done's
eclectic pop and rock sound. Reba's dream was to
have hands as big as her
Dad's, who entertained his
fellow troops at the piano
on the ocean voyage
to England prior to piloting B-24s over Germany.
Since her hands won't reach
that octave-plus-four range...she
settles for having a really
heavy
keyboard, which the guys enjoy lifting into her
minivan.
